Classes will be using some of these throughout the academic year.

Communication & Learning

  • MYSCHOOL Check out our school apps and websites! Keep up to date with newsdesk, relax with some games. Access Google Classroom through the apps section. Login with your c2k username and password and use the internet safely.

How pupils can access GOOGLE CLASSROOM

  • Newsdesk (C2K MySchool username and password required) Newsdesk is a very useful tool for schools to develop children’s fluency in reading, comprehension and writing skills. The Newsdesk Hour will be in operation from Monday 23 March where children can listen to interesting articles, watch video content and write about what they have read of learned. Children can also take a picture and upload it onto School Reporter section of the main Newsdesk site. The activities and topics are updated daily.

  • Class Dojo Classroom communities with pupils, parents and teachers. This is the Class Dojo online site. Remember to download the app.

READING & LITERACY

  • Accelerated reading website Daily reading is a crucial factor in developing every student's reading age so please keep up the excellent progress you have all made so far in AR. The children will have to use existing books from home to choose for their next AR book. It will up to you as parent/carer to help your child choose an appropriate level book.
  • AR Books Online To help support teachers, students and parents to 'Keep the UK and Ireland reading', we are offering access to thousands of enhanced digital books through myON and articles from myON News.
  • Audible FREE!! The audiobook platform announced that anyone can listen to a vast selection of its titles for free, for as long as schools remain closed.
  • NI Libraries This website offers free eBooks and eMagazines. Library membership number may be required.
  • Mashable 12 children’s e-books which can be downloaded free of charge.
  • Literacy Shed Here at Literacy Shed we aim to provide teachers with high quality films and animations that can be used in the primary classroom to enhance the teaching of reading and writing.
  • Scholastic Please note spelling is American but some lovely stories to listen to, word match activities, quizzes and information about authors.

Phonics

  • NESSY Nessy programs are designed to help students of all abilities learn to read, write, spell and type, especially those who learn differently,
  • Spelling Shed SPELLING SHED is a spelling drill experience geared at elementary school students. Kids choose from three stages, or reading levels. They can practice spelling or play the Bee Keeper game. The practice rounds have four levels.
  • Phonics Bloom Play a range of online phonics games, helping teach children the relationship between letters and sounds and develop the skills needed to read and write.
  • Phonics Play A site packed with interactive phonics games, phonics planning, assessment ideas and many teaching ideas and resources to help children to learn.
  • Cbeebies - Alphablocks Watch as the letters of the alphabet tell stories and make words using phonics. Play the learning game, watch clips and print colouring pages.

  • Times Tables Rockstars! Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. Check it out!
  • The Maths Factor FREE!! The Maths Factor FREE for everyone (usually about £2 per week) to support childrens’ continued learning at home for the duration of the UK Schools closure period.
  • Math Drills Discover over 50 thousand math worksheets on a variety of school topics. PDF math worksheets are easy to print or download.
  • Number Fun FREE of charge for one month. The portal contains over 200 song video presentations, accompanied by their respective resources for learning and teaching mathematics. There are four age ranges and nine themes in each age range to include: number and place value; addition and subtraction; multiplication and division; fractions, ratio and proportion; measurement; shape; position and direction; statistics; algebra; and, extras.

  • DKfindout Learn about dinosaurs, space, animals, nature & more. Fun learning activities for kids with videos, quizzes & galleries.
  • Tate Kids Explore art and artists at the Tate gallery.

  • Go Noodle FREE resources with movement and mindfulness videos created by child development experts
  • BBC Super Movers Super Movers is helping children across the UK to get physically active with curriculum linked videos.
