World Book Day - Book covers

For World Book Day we created posters for our favourite books using Adobe Express. The book covers include Roald Dahl classics like The BFG, George's Marvellous Medicine, Fantastic Mr Fox, as well as Dr Seuss Green Eggs and Ham, Paddington Bear, Wonder, Horrid Henry, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Can you guess the books from our posters?

P7 retreat

The P7 children had a lovely experience today at the De La Salle Pastoral Centre. We would like to thank all the tutors for their hard work and support.

We used our iPads and Adobe Express to create posters to highlighting how to stay safe when using the internet. We're really pleased with the results!

Building a city

We built a city!

We have been taking part in the Young Enterprise programme. This programme examines the features that make up any city. Pupils are introduced to the idea that cities are made up of different areas or zones in which activities that are vital for city life occur.

We had our first ICT lesson using the chromebooks. We are looking forward to joining Mr Flanaghan's and Mr Deery's classes for more ICT wizardry!

We had an on-line art lesson today with the artist Sinead Campbell.

We created a watercolour painting based on the artwork of Claude Monet.

Everyone really enjoyed the lesson and our paintings are fantastic!

Stormont - Parliament Buildings

P7 had the opportunity to visit Parliament Buildings at Stormont. We got a guided tour around the different chambers and even got to debate on whether school uniform was really necessary. The kids and adults really enjoyed seeing this historic building.

Micro:bit

Today, we started coding with Micro:bit. A micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer. We were able to use iPads to code instructions and send this code to the micro:bit. It was great fun!

Happy Hallowe'en! Great costumes and very creative spooky buns too.

The children have all worked really hard these first few months and I hope they all have a happy and safe Hallowe'en break

Pop rockets - To infinity and beyond!

We made 'Pop Space Rockets' today. We tested them to see how high they could fly. The highest distance travelled was 2.5metres!

Only Smarties have the answers!

The pupils used Smarties today in Maths. We estimated how many Smarties were in each tube. Then we sorted them into colours and used our data to create a bar graph. Finally we got to eat our smarties.laugh

New Planets Discovered!

NEW PLANETS DISCOVERED!! We have started to make papier mache planets which we will use to decorate the classroom for our Space WAU topic. Lots of fun and messy work!
