Our pupils were busy exploring global art and design as they created their fantastic tribal masks! They worked incredibly hard, focusing on their fine motor skills to practice detailed paper cutting and folding techniques to bring their vibrant designs to life. Each mask is unique and a wonderful blend of colour, texture, and shape. Well done, everyone!
As part of our Healthy Me topic, Mrs. Grant brought in a delicious variety of fruits for the children to try! We had a great time using our senses to explore new tastes, textures, and smells. The children were fantastic at giving everything a go and discussing which fruits they enjoyed the most. This hands-on activity was a perfect way to learn about the importance of a healthy, balanced diet!
We were delighted to welcome the Action Mental Health team for their 'Healthy Me' workshop!
Our children had a fantastic time engaging in the interactive sessions where they learned important skills for understanding and expressing their feelings, promoting social and emotional well-being, and making healthy lifestyle choices through play and song. They're now equipped with great ideas for self-care and resilience!
To celebrate Halloween, the children created their own spooky animations using Adobe Express. They combined clipart, text, sound effects, and animated visuals to bring their eerie ideas to life. This activity blended design, and digital skills in a fun and festive way! (More animations to follow!)
Our children have started using Numbots and Times Tables Rock Stars to boost their number fluency and times tables knowledge—and they’re loving it! These engaging platforms make learning maths fun, interactive, and rewarding, helping to build confidence and speed in a playful way.
Our children explored the power of language by creating imaginative animal poems, using vivid verbs and descriptive adjectives to bring their chosen creatures to life. They then used Adobe Express and their growing knowledge of AI tools to design and present their poems in visually captivating formats, blending creativity with digital skills.
As part of our World Around Us topic, our students stepped into the shoes of master artists! Taking inspiration from the vibrant jungle scenes of Henri Rousseau and the detailed block prints of Gail Kelly, the children designed and created their own stunning rainforest scenes. They learned the intricate process of block printing, resulting in bold, layered, and beautiful artwork that truly brings the rainforest to life!
Our children have been busy researching fascinating animals and compiling key facts into vibrant, eye-catching fact files. Using Adobe Express, they combined their research with creative design skills to produce visually engaging and informative posters that showcase their learning in a fun and professional format.
As part of Maths Week, the children took part in a fun and active data collection lesson. They completed a range of physical exercises—such as star jumps, basketball, shuttle runs—and recorded how many they could do in one minute. Using this data, they created bar graphs to visually represent their results, combining maths, movement, and data skills in an exciting and memorable way.
As part of their literacy and design work, our children have reimagined the cover of The Explorer by Katherine Rundell. Using a combination of AI tools and digital imagery, they created unique and visually striking interpretations of the novel. Each design reflects their understanding of the story’s themes, characters, and setting, showcasing both creativity and technical skill.
As part of our eco-awareness activities, the children took part in a hands-on workshop focused on sustainability and creative reuse. Using old t-shirts, they learned how to recycle fabric by transforming it into practical and stylish carrier bags. This fun and meaningful activity helped highlight the importance of reducing waste and thinking creatively about everyday materials.
We’ve launched our exciting new topic: The Rainforests. The children have been learning about the different layers of the rainforest and the incredible animals that inhabit each one.
