Tuesday 24th March 2020 at 11.00

Here are some of the wonderful resources that have been purchased since September 2018 using PA funding .

Toys, Books and even a washing machine for sports kits and dressing up clothes.

None of this would be possible without your support of PA events.

Thank You

Role of the PA

St. Colman's Parents' Association (the “PA”) is a parent-run, volunteer organization.

Our mission is to support the children in the school and build our community, by delivering a range of events that help to raise funds. All profit is re-invested into the school and spent on essential items at a school and classroom level.

Mr Baine (Principal) and Mr Crouch (Vice-Principal) attend the meetings and help to focus our activities and how the funds are allocated.

On this page you can find out about the PA Committee and get a sample of the fundraising events we plan and manage through each year.

The PA plays a critical role in supporting the school with funds for resources and supporting special school events.

We want to emphasise the importance of parent volunteers who are dedicated to fostering a strong, supportive community for the benefit of children, parents, and staff.

Contact any of the Committee if you wish to help out directly or indirectly.

You can support the school and PA with time, sponsorship, services or perhaps you may know of an important contact.

What we do

First of all we want to share a huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to raise funds to date.

We appreciate every penny from everyone who donates money, effort, gifts and time to support our events. So well done to our parents and wider families, teachers and support staff, our local community and businesses. A special praise is shared with all of the children who attend our events and contribute greatly to make the events fun, fulfilling and safe!

Here's an example of what we get up to

School Discos

We usually run a disco at Halloween and St Patrick's.

We sometimes run a tuck shop or serve water and juice.

We always arrange a DJ!

Christmas Fayre
Most Christmases we run a Fayre and Santa is always the biggest attraction!

The Rickety Wheel is always very popular and loads of prizes are generously donated by parents and local businesses.

There will always be food and drink and plenty of activities for kids and adults.

Communion

PA funding is used to purchase tea, coffee and biscuits for families after confirmation. PA volunteers make and serve refreshments and clear up after. We also do an early morning run to the bakery for scones and pancakes and assist the photographers and arrange DVD. More helpers always welcomed even to set up or clear up!

Formal Events

Some years we organise a formal event for parents and staff in the evening.

These are always great fun and well attended and help to raise a great amount for the school.

Summer Fete

Every June we endeavour to run a Summer Fete.

This is a great opportunity to get outside for bouncy castles and football.

We also have our ever popular rickety wheel, BBQ, Cake stall, Tattoos, face painting and visiting stall holders.

Other Events

We help out at other events as and when requested by Mr Baine

e.g. Open Day for prospective P1s

Official Opening of the Outdoor Classroom

50th Anniversary Celebrations

Purchase trophies, certificates and transport.
