P.E day is Friday (Term 2)

We loved reading "The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch". We decided that we would help Mr.Grinling get his lunch by creating a rocket launcher with 2 balloons. We were VERY VERY excited!!

World Book Day 2020. We loved dressing up as adjectives this year. Lots of creative characters and ideas.

We created our right angle monster. We went on a right angle hunt around the classroom finding objects with lots right angles.

We loved making and eating our pancakes 🥞

We had lots of fun learning about the Wright Brothers and their first flight. We decided to make our own planes and see which could travel the furthest.

We worked in 3's to find and sort the ow/ou sounds in different stories.

We really enjoyed visiting the Ulster Transport Museum! Lots of information about old transport. 🚌 🚗 🐴

We enjoyed talking about our grandparents and why we love them especially when they give us sweets. 🍭

As part of our 'On the move' topic we are starting to look at car types and logos. We did our first car park survey to see which car was the most popular.

We enjoyed sorting the 'o' sounds on our tables.

What a great Christmas jumper day in school. We had a special visitor in our classroom 'Ibe Sesay' from Q Radio to switch on our Christmas tree lights. 🎄

We enjoyed exploring light and how to tell if something is opaque, translucent or transparent.

We made buggies in the Sentinus workshop and tested them to see how far they travelled.

We loved discussing our celebration posters with the class during our show and tell.

Using hula hoops to create a venn diagram to sort sweets.

We created boats with lots of different materials in Science Stars.

We loved our carrousel activities during Healthy Kids this week. Lots of fun to be had especially with the rock paper scissors game.

We went on a light source hunt around the school.

Lots of fun creating our own shops to buy items and to give change.

We enjoyed investigating floating and sinking with Science Stars.

We loved playing 'mat ball' with healthy kids.

We had lots of fun adding with dice to get 4 in a row!

We loved matching the digital time to the analogue time.

We loved making our Halloween slime! 👻

Our fun day in Healthy kids playing great games like dodgeball, bowling and darts.

We loved looking at different newspaper articles about GAA sports such as gaelic and hurling.

Column addition carrousel activities using dice, cards, templates and the interactive whiteboard to create and answer sums.

We enjoyed telling our partners directions to get to our item in the playground. Lots of directional language used.

A great session with Science Stars discussing and making 'pulleys' a method that could have been used in the Tir Na Nog story.

We love our mental maths activities like 'Counting Cowboys'.

Tomorrow we will be looking at GAA sports and different articles online. (Tuesday 22nd October)

If possible could you look in an Irish Newspaper and cut out an Irish sport article (GAA) and send into class that we could discuss further.

Today we made the Giant's Causeway and then created our own volcanos discussing how the rocks were formed. 🌋

We found lots of exciting things on our Autumn walk including...FUNGI.

We loved our paired doubling game.

We loved learning about the water cycle with Science Stars.

We really enjoyed our P.E with the 'Healthy Kids' coach this week.

Our floating and sinking investigation. We loved making our predictions and finding out it they were right or wrong.

What a fun time we had investigating our fingerprints with Science Stars.
