Protect our Planet - Reuse plastic bottles

The majority of our children throw out their plastic bottles in school. These go straight to landfill and we would like children to reuse them.

From Monday 5th - Friday 9th December we would like to encourage children to reuse and recycle all their plastic bottles.

What happens to our bottles if they go to landfill?

The nonprofit Berkeley Ecology Center found that the manufacture of plastic uses large amounts of energy and resources and generates toxic emissions and pollutants that contribute to global warming.

Mr McAllister pointed out in his interview - Click Here To Read It- that children in our school throw out up to 600 bottles a week but that these are not currently being recycled.

From next week and beyond we would like to encourage you all to protect our planet by putting the bottles back in your lunch boxes. Bring them home, rinse them out and reuse them or dispose of them properly in your recycle bins at home.
