DELTA COURSE: begins on Monday 17th October from 4-6pm for parents and guardians of P1 pupils.
Do This In Memory Of Me:
The Do This In Memory Of Me programme for P4 children and their families begins on Sunday 16th October at 12noon mass in St Colman's Church. This is Enrolment Sunday and the P4 children will be asked to make a number of promises about their preparation for First Holy Communion. If you have still to register please contact the parish office or Jennifer on 028 90947115.
Open Night:
Monday 28th November at 6.00pm. If your child is starting Primary 1 next September or you know of someone who has a child about to start school, please contact the school office to register for an invitation to our Open Night.
St Colman's Fitness Fun Day:
Tuesday 25th October. This is a very popular event in the school's calendar where the children spend the day having fun through exercise. Children can wear their PE gear/track suits to school. Sponsor forms have been sent home to each family and St Colman's would ask that children do not knock on doors to obtain sponsorship. Sponsor money should be returned to school by Friday 21st October.
P1 DELTA Course:
The first DELTA session for P1 parents will take place on Monday 17th October from 4-6pm in the P1 classrooms. We encourage all our P1 parents to attend this very worthwhile course.
Pantomime:
There will be a visiting Theatre Group performing "Robin Hood" at the school next Tuesday for all the children. The £1 contribution towards the cost must be with your child's teacher by Monday at the latest.
P7 Extra Tuition Classes:
Classes for P7 pupils taking part in the Transfer Tests will continue on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs McGrath's class every Monday and Mrs Toland's class every Tuesday from 3-4pm.
Dates for your diary:
Hallowe'en Break: School closed Monday 31st October to Friday 4th November (inclusive). This break includes 2 staff training days on Thursday 3rd November and Friday 4th November.
Christmas Bazaar: Thursday 1st December
Parent/Teacher meeting Day: Thursday 8th December 2011
First Holy Communion Date: Saturday 26th May 2012
After School Clubs:
Drama: class every Monday from 3-4pm in the Mini Cinema
French Club: classes have been postponed due to bereavement. A re-start date will be issued soon.
Rosary club: every Tuesday from 3-3.30pm in the Oratory
Irish Dancing: every Thursday from 2-3pm and 3-4pm
School choir and traditional group -every Thursday in the assembly hall from 3-4pm. New members are welcome.
Fit 'n' Fun Gymnastix: Every Friday from 3-4pm in the Sports Hall (First group only until Halloween).
Sporting Notices:
Gaelic:training on Monday for P5/6/7 with Mr Devlin from 3-4pm
Hurling: training on Tuesday from 3-4pm for P5/6/7 on the pitch - bring trainers. Training for P4 will start after Halloween.
Girls Gaelic: Training every Friday from 3-4pm on the pitch - please bring warm clothing
Netball: Training as normal on Wednesday from 3-4pm for P4/5/6/7.
JUDO: classes every Friday from 3-4pm. Note: there will be no judo class on Friday 28th October.
Naomh Padraig Ladies Football Team: Kirkwoods pitches every Saturday from 3.30- 5.00 for girls from age 9 to 16. All skills welcome, contact Michael Stewart on 07775743852 for more details.
Suffolk Library Reading Club: Suffolk library have a reading club every 2nd Monday at 5.15pm for children aged 7-9. If you love books and love reading, why don't you join up. Contact the library for more details on suffolk.library@librariesni.org.uk
FRUITY FRIDAYS.
This week on 'Fruity Fridays'..........Oranges. Every Wednesday the children pick their choice of fruit and give their 25p to their teacher, then on Friday breaktime their fruit is delivered to their classroom. This is a great initiative and we encourage all children to take part.
School Meals: Week beginning Monday 17th October-£2.20 (£11 for the week)
Just to remind parents that dinner money must be paid on a Monday using the school dinner money envelopes.

And Finally..... Thank you to everyone who supported our Hallowe'en Shop. We had a few bags of costumes, hats etc left over from last year and the sale raised over £200 towards school funds. This money will be used by the Parents' Association to pay for the sports coaches over the next few months. We will be organising a few more Hallowe'en themed events over the next few weeks so keep reading your Friday note for more details.
