School will be closed for pupils on Wednesday 30th November as a result of industrial action.
Open Night:
Monday 28th November at 6.00pm. We invite all those parents and children who will be starting school in September 2012 to our Open Night on Monday at 6.00pm.
Strike Day:
due to industrial action school will be closed for pupils on Wednesday 30th November.
Important bus notice:
Betty's bus - for the next few months Betty will not be supervising the morning bus or the 3pm bus. The 2pm bus will be supervised by our classroom assistant, Mrs Livingstone. Any parent who is concerned about their child travelling on the bus can contact the school and Brenda will organise a 'bus buddy' for them.
Christmas Concerts:
This year the Christmas concerts will take place over 3 nights in December. Each year group will be on a separate night and to ensure that everyone gets a seat we have set an allocated amount of tickets per child per concert. You will not be able to pay at the door and tickets must be produced on entry. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 1st December
P1/2 Concert A little Nativity (max 3 tickets per concert per child) Tuesday 13th December at 1.00pm & Wednesday 14th December at 7.00pm
P3/4 Concert The Christmas Receipe (max 3 tickets per concert per child)
Tuesday 13th December at 7.00pm & Thursday 15th December at 1.30pm
P5/6/7 Concert The Match Girl's Christmas (max 2 tickets per concert per child)
Wednesday 14th December at 1.30pm & Thursday 15th December at 7.00pm

Parent/Teacher meeting Day: Thursday 8th December 2011. No school for pupils. Letters will be sent home next week
Christmas Holidays. Friday 23rd December at 12 noon until Friday 6th January 2012. Note: there is also an early closing on Thursday 22nd December at 1.00pm to facilitate staff training.
Confirmation: Thursday 26th January at 11.00am.

After School Clubs:
Drama: class every Monday from 3-4pm in the Mini Cinema
French Club: no class next week due to strike
Rosary club: every Tuesday from 3-3.30pm in the Oratory
Irish Dancing: every Thursday from 2-3pm and 3-4pm
Traditional + School Choir- due to practice at open night there will be no class on Thursday
Fit 'n' Fun Gymnastix: The second group will continue every Friday from 3-4pm in the sports hall.
Sporting Notices:
Soccer:NO SOCCER ON MONDAY DUE TO OPEN NIGHT.
Hurling: training on Tuesdays from 3-4pm for P4/5/6/7 on the pitch - bring boots and trainers.
Girls Gaelic: Training every Friday from 3-4pm on the pitch - please bring trainers + boots.
Netball:. No training due to strike day. Congratulations to the girls netball team who won 7-0 against Killowen yesterday. Well done!! Thanks also to all the parents who came along to support the team.
JUDO: classes every Friday from 3-4 in the assembly hall. classes finish on Friday 2nd December
FRUITY FRIDAYS.
This week on 'Fruity Fridays'...... Oranges. Every Wednesday the children pick their choice of fruit and give their 25p to their teacher, then on Friday breaktime their fruit is delivered to their classroom. This is a great initiative and we encourage all children to take part.
Little Oaks Letter From Santa: If you would like your child to receive a letter from Santa. Please collect a form from either the school reception or Little Oaks. Forms must be returned to Little Oaks by 2nd December.
School Meals: Week beginning Monday 21st November-£2.20 (£11 for the week)
Just to remind parents that dinner money must be paid on a Monday using the school dinner money envelopes.

School Christmas Dinner will take place on Wednesday 7th December. If you wish for your child to have a Christmas Dinner you must return the slip and £2.20 by Tuesday 29th November. Please do not include money with normal weekly dinner money and no order will be taken after Tuesday.

And Finally..... The Christmas Bazaar is on Thursday 1st December from 6.00pm in the school hall. We urgently need donations for all the various stalls, donations can be left in the school office right up until 3pm on Thursday. We would encourage everyone to come along and support this worthwhile event. In past years the bazaar has proved to not only be a great success but great craic. We look forward to seeing you all there.
