P1 Prayer Service: Tuesday 21st November at 1.15pm in the mini cinema. Parents, grandparents and family members are welcome.
P1 Prayer Service:
the P1 children are having a prayer service with Fr Paul on Tuesday 21st November at 1.15pm in the Mini Cinema. We encourage parent, grandparents another family members to come along.
Open Night:
Monday 28th November at 6.00pm. If you have a child that is starting Primary 1 next September or you know of someone who does, please contact the school office to register for an invitation to our Open Night.
Travelling Book Club:
The book club will be in school from Tuesday 22nd November until Friday 25th November. Parents can visit the Book club in our library from 2-3pm
Christmas Bazaar:
Thursday 1st December at 6.00pm in the school hall. We need donations for the tombola - toys (new), gift vouchers, tins of biscuits/sweets, perfume etc. If you are interested in sponsoring a stall please leave your name with the school office and a member of the PA will get back to you. Donations are also needed for the bottle stall, cake stall and book stall. Please leave your donations with the school office.
Parents' Association Meeting:
the next meeting will take place on Wednesday 23rd November at 7.00pm in the School mini cinema.
Do this in memory of Me:
the programme continues on Sunday 20th November at 12 noon mass in St Colman's Church for P4 children and their families who are preparing for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.
Little Oaks Letter From Santa:
If you would like your child to receive a letter from Santa. Please collect a form from either the school reception or Little Oaks. Forms must be returned to Little Oaks by 2nd December.
Dates for your diary:
Christmas Bazaar: Thursday 1st December. Donations to be left with the school office.
Parent/Teacher meeting Day: Thursday 8th December 2011. Letters will be sent home soon.
First Holy Communion Date: Saturday 26th May 2012
After School Clubs:
Drama: class every Monday from 3-4pm in the Mini Cinema
French Club: classes will continue every Wednesday from 3-4pm in the school library.
Rosary club: every Tuesday from 3-3.30pm in the Oratory
Irish Dancing: every Thursday from 2-3pm and 3-4pm
Traditional + School Choir- practice on Thursday in the assembly hall from 3-4pm.
Fit 'n' Fun Gymnastix: The second group will continue every Friday from 3-4pm in the sports hall.
Sporting Notices:
Soccer: training on Monday for P4/5 in the hall with Mr Burns, training for P6/7 on pitch with Mr Crouch - all boys must bring shin guards.
Hurling: training on Tuesdays from 3-4pm for P4/5/6/7 on the pitch - bring boots and trainers.
Girls Gaelic: Training every Friday from 3-4pm on the pitch - please bring trainers + boots.
Netball:. Training for P6/7 girls only on Wednesday 23rd November from 3-4pm.
JUDO: classes every Friday from 3-4 in the assembly hall.
FRUITY FRIDAYS.
This week on 'Fruity Fridays'...... BANANAS Every Wednesday the children pick their choice of fruit and give their 25p to their teacher, then on Friday breaktime their fruit is delivered to their classroom. This is a great initiative and we encourage all children to take part.
School Meals: Week beginning Monday 21st November-£2.20 (£11 for the week)
Just to remind parents that dinner money must be paid on a Monday using the school dinner money envelopes.

Fish fingers or chicken casserole with baked bean, peas and creamed potatoes creamed rice & pears
Tuesday
pork rib in a bap or omelette with choice of filling with steamed broccoli and homemade potato wedges or chips yoghurt & fruit
Wednesday
roast pork & apple sauce pasta bake carrot & parsnip with carrot & parsnip with creamed & dry roast potatoes ice cream & chocolate sauce with glass of milk
Thursday
chicken curry & rice or baked cod with peas sweetcorn & pitta bread homemade flakemeal biscuit & fruit with milkshake
Friday
savoury mince with veg & creamed potato or baked potato or filled wrap with choice of fillingjam sponge & custard

And Finally..... Congratulations to the children from Mrs Tandy's P6 class who, along with their P5 teacher Mrs Phoenix, came 3rd out of 600 schools who entered the Reduce Reuse Recycle competition. The children were presented with their prizes at an awards ceremony in W5 on Wednesday. Well done everyone.
Congratulations also to Cara McGurnaghan from Mrs McGrath's P7 class who entered her class in the U105's Class of the Week - and won! U105 will be visiting the school next week to present the class with their prizes.
Finally finally.... The P7 children are sitting their first GL test tomorrow, please keep them all in your prayers.

Have a look at our school website. There is a lot of new content and information about all our classes and what is happening in St Colman's. It is now updated on a daily basis and our website club (The WWW dots) have our own weekly kids page. Each child can also enter a competition to design a poster to encourage people to log on to the website.
