Do you want to Practice your Exchanging?
You can log on to the My Maths Website www.mymaths.co.uk
Use the username and password you received in this week's homework overview. Remember your username and password is only for children in St Colman's Primary School.
Log on then you can follow these instructions. Click on;
- Level 3
- Number
- Add Subtract Written
- 3 Subtraction Columns
- 'Lesson' - located at the bottom of the page
- Now you have 7 choices - Number 1 (located on left and right hand side of the screen) shows how to lay out straight foward subtraction sums. Keep hitting 'next'.
- 2 - gives the opportunity to complete straight forward subtraction sums. You can write in the answers and use the 'Markit' button. The abacus can also help you.
- 3- shows you how to lay out sums with exchanging. It shows the correct method but it uses the words 'borrow' and pay back' while we use the term 'exchange'.
- 4- gives us the opportunity to complete sums with 'exchanging'. We can use the 'Markit' button.
Every time we click on these numbers they give us different sums. We have already attempted 1,2,3, and 4 on our interactive whiteboard in school. We have not tried 5,6 and 7 (these use hundreds, tens and units).
