Mrs Monaghan
Look how much they've grown!

Our caterpillars have arrived!

Our caterpillars arrived today in the little plastic container you can see above. Can you spot the 5 caterpillars? They are very small at the moment but very soon we will see them grow longer and fatter just like the Very Hungry Caterpillar! They are just starting to eat the special caterpillar food at the bottom of the plastic container and in 7-14 days they will begin to make their chrysalis. That is when we will transfer them to our special butterfly house that you can see above.
Keep checking our class page for more photos as the caterpillars develop!
Our Olympics ceremony in school:
We will be having an Olympics ceremony in school at the end of May. Each class has been given a country to represent. Our class is representing Argentina. If you can find anything out about the country bring it into school. We will be doing this for our homework next week.

Our beautiful sunflowers!
We made sunflowers for our display. Some of us painted them, some of us used tissue paper, some used pastels and others used paper plates and handprints. We think they look lovely :) We will be talking about Vincent van Gogh very soon because he painted some very famous sunflowers!
Jasper's Beanstalk

We drew pictures of what we thought Jasper might find at the top of his beanstalk for our topic of Growing. We drew castles, beautiful gardens, golden geese, princesses and even a girlfriend for Jasper!
Our Beautiful Butterflies!!!

We used coffee filter paper and food colouring to make our colourful butterflies. Don't they look pretty?
Our real butterflies will be arriving shortly in school as caterpillars. We have a special butterfly house where we will keep them safe, feed them and watch them grow into real butterflies. We will post some pictures very soon so keep checking our class page!
May is the month of Mary

Niamh and Olivia brought some beautiful flowers in for our sacred space in the classroom. In the month of May we pray to Mary.
Our Trip to Pizza Express
On Tuesday 17th of April we enjoyed our class trip to Pizza Express.

We loved our visit to the playground.

Antrim champions!
Our Class won the GAA colouring in competition. We were selected from over 20,000 entries as the Antrim area winners. Here we are with our backpacks we all won and our GAA coach, Mags.

Here are some of our lovely displays from the spring term:

Our class photo

Our house corner has been turned into a garden centre because our new topic is "GROWING".

If anyone would like to donate any welly boots, plant pots, seeds, old gardening books, etc we would love to use them in our garden centre. We are loving using the soil and planting seeds and flowers.
Our caterpillars will be arriving shortly and we are going to keep them in the classroom and watch them grow and change into beautiful butterflies.
