Recycling Project
Reduce Reuse Recycle
Congratulations to Miss Phoenix and last year's Primary 5 children who won a fun-filled day in W5. They came in third place out of 600 schools in the reduce reuse recycle competition. We are very proud of them and of their success.
We enjoyed meeting Webster at W5. We got our pictures taken with Webster and the Mayor for the local papers! We were also on Daybreak!!
What we did to win our prize
Last year Primary 5 children participatedin the Dissolving Boundares Programme. They were learning about recycling and the environment. They were lucky enough to have a visit from Noel McGuigan's daddy (Miss Phoenix's class), also called Noel. Mr. McGuigan works for Horizon Renewables who create renewable energy sources - especially wind turbines and solar panels.
The powerpoint presentation he showed the two classes provided us with invaluable information. The children were fascinated by the solar panel and wind turbine blade that Mr. McGuigan brought with him. Miss Phoenix and Mrs. McClements are very grateful to Noel (junior and senior) for this wonderful learning workshop. The children really were blown away by it all.
